it is a pre model and called a .32-20 winchester hand ejector, made about 1905

Hello, I just got the S&W M&P "Victory Model" British Contract Revolver yesterday. Details are as follows:

A. Calibre-.38 S&W (aka .380"/200)
B Barrel Length- 5"
C. Square Butt with smooth walnut grips/stocks
D. Cylinder-6 Rounds
E. Sights-Fixed with half-moon front sight
F. Serial Number-V1669SW (the number is 6 digits long (not including V pre-fix) I used "SW" in place of the last two numbers.
G. Model Number/Name-M&P "Victory Model" British Contract Service Revolver.

It has a fairly early number, so 1942 to 43 would be ok.



From what I could find out, my guess would be 1942 as a shipping date, but I'm not an expert, hench me asking here.

I have recently acquired a 686-3 6"... I was wondering what year did the change to rubber houge grips.. mine came with walnut checkered grips with silver S&W medallions on them... any help appreciatedHogue grips started with 686-4s in 1993, yours would be 88 to 92

I'd also like to know if it's rated for +P ammo, since that's what I carry in it. Actually +P+, I believe, that's what Winchester told me it was. RCMP surplus ammo. It shoots it just fine, but I don't want to break the little feller.
1981 and should be ok with some +p, not +p+

2. it has an additional number on the cylinder arm 40414, what's this?it is a number to be able to track the frame pre serial number.
3. how much is it worth? (95% with original and hogue grips)Between $300 and $700
4. what is the difference between the no dash and the -1,-2,-3?Engineering changes

The J serial number designates a j frame with 5 shots not 6, date 1969 to 1970

I havn't a clue about the grips, never took them off to see if there are any identifying marks.

It has an alloy frame and steel cylinder, also grooved "target" trigger.

i am not a handgun person so i know nothing about the gun, but i would like to know more. like want frame is it and if i can shoot +p
