I say we keep watch on this.... our 'speedy' legal system should have results in about six months, and then another month for sentencing and we can see what happens with the Muhs... no Muhs's? Muhses? Muhzissessizziss?.... aw skip it.

The sad thing is, their actions reflect negatively on ordinary trailer trash.

Lemmee tell ya, jest cuz ya got more hounds than teeth left and yer truck is up on blocks since 1998, don't mean yer a murder case waitin' to happen. Nope.

Even if your landscaping features beer-can wind-chimes and TV dinner trays folded into animal shapes and nailed to an old pine stump.

I don't know if catspa was being sarcastic or not , but I agree with you about the constant bs being dumped on the "salt of the earth" and the backbone of our country. The mainstream media and the jerks in hollywood constantly stereotype the people who they think don't live up to their standards. Many of the posts here have reflected that same prejudice against the people they consider somehow inferior for living in pre-constucted housing. My parents did at one time ( they now own a home in Florida and one in North Carolina worth over one million dollars combined). My inlaws lived in a trailer in south Texas after they retired. I have freinds who live "that way" as well. I live in a suburb of Atlanta considered upper middle class and fly the confederate flag as well as the stars and stripes, so I must be toothless tatooed inbred trash. But I have all my teeth, no tatoos and my parents were not related. I own my own business and provide a decent living for several families. I say shame on the people who look down on those they consider less fortunate than themselves, because they are the unfortunate ones.

Wait, how is this possible? People keep posting "You can shoot them in Texas!" Does this mean Texans actually have to be selective about targets?

What a naive question. There is nothing about this incident that suggests it was legal. So the matter of being able to "shoot them in Texas" does not exactly apply.

The victims were not show on the property of the shooter.
The victims were not engaged in a crime against the shooter at the time of the shooting.
The shooter had no lawful reason to shoot.

Texas law does not allow for the shooting of people merely for trespassing.

Don't be so sure...

You quoted the same law I quoted. Note that law is only for the use of FORCE, not DEADLY FORCE.

The deadly force statute does not have the word trespass in it.

That's what I was showing earlier in the thread, that the word "trespass" only shows up in the force statute, not deadly force.

So, they could have maybe pushed them off their property, punched their lights out possibly, but no shooting.

Now, there is ANOTHER statute in Texas that says merely POINTING a gun at someone is not considered deadly force, and can be used as a deterrent when force is authorized.

So in the case of trespassing you MIGHT get away with pointing a gun at someone for trespassing as long as you don't pull the trigger, but you cannot start shooting simply for their trespassing.

Once the gun fires it's deadly force even if a so called "warning shot".

Texas has the death penalty

These idiots didn't even know where property started. Give 'em the chair. I feel sorry for the child and his family for having to go through this. My condolences to the family.

I don't understand your statement. Just look at the way the British news reported this tragedy. If you don't think the mainstream media is going to demonize gun owners in general for this incident you are kidding yourself. My title intended to provoke a feeling of disgust over the tragedy as well as an awareness of how we as responsible gun owners need to out weigh the moron gun owners.

Because the anti's are going to go after guns no matter what. This incident in no way indicts all gun people, any more than it is a statement about all people who live in trailers, or all white people. do we really have to post every shooting that happens in America with the "woe to all gun owners" canard?

I think they were off there property, so it is murder for sure.

TBS, they should sue Honda for making an ATV for getting them there.

Why not, there's been people that have been suing Honda for years (1969) for there own stupidity/egnorance for years on the consumers part.
