In case you haven't heard, Dallas Action Pistol Shooters (DAPS) is the only place to shoot IDPA and USPSA in Dallas. We shoot IDPA every Wednesday night at the Elm Fork Shooting Park. We also host a number of matches on the weekends. You can see the full schedule, information about our matches and directions to the range on our web site. We have shooters of all skill levels, so come on out and have some fun with us. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions. This Saturday we will be having an IDPA classifier, so if you need to get classified or just want to shoot it, come on out.
Thanks,
Darin Cooley
DAPS President

Can you send some of your warm weather my way to Ohio? Winter has arrived and all outdoor USPSA has been cancelled until spring. :)

DAPS really is a great club to shoot with. They even let ME shoot with them on occasion.

I'll be there this wednesday and I'm bringing a coat. This is Texas ya know. ;)

PS....I NEED s Sunday classifier guys........I work EVERY Saturday....pretty please!

Yep, CCIDPA is an option here in North Texas. They also run good matches and have a bunch of dedicated people working with the club.
They are not in Dallas.

Collin County IDPA

Collin County IDPA www.ccidpa.org shoots every Saturday except the 2nd week at Jacobs Plain Gun Club (JPGC) www.jacobsplain.com just NE of Greenville. On the 2nd Saturday of each month we shoot at the Adrenaline Proving Grounds (APG) www.apgtraining.com just east of McKinney. Every other Sunday CCIDPA www.ccidpa.org shoots at North Texas Shooters Association (NTSA) near Denton. All 3 ranges are just short drives from the Plano/Richardson/North Dallas areas. Again you can refer to CCIDPA's web site www.ccidpa.org for times, locations, and directions to our ranges. Our match yesterday, Nov. 18th comprised 31 shooters, 9 stages, over 150 rounds, and 3 squads.

BTW we just held a Sunday classifier last week at JPGC.

The 2nd Saturday of each month CCIDPA www.ccidpa.org hosts a fantastic USPSA match at JPGC sponsored by CCIDPA and put on by North Texas Practical Shooters www.ntpshooters.org. So you have your choice of USPSA or IDPA on that day.

At JPGC we have 5 full bays and 2 half bays from which to shoot. At NTSA we have 2 large bays and at APG we have 1 monster sized bay (soon to be 2 and later 3) from which we can set up 3-4 stages at a time

We also shoot 3 Gun Matches at JPGC 6-8 times a year with 2-200 yd. shots the norm. www.ccidpa.org/threegun.html

Please check out our calendar as TexasShooter posted above www.ccidpa.org/calendar/cal0611.html

CCIDPA www.ccidpa.org is a great club with many opportunities to shoot, run by dedicated shooters. We cater to the new shooter and seasoned shooter alike. All members of the Law Enforcement community are always welcome.

CCIDPA www.ccidpa.org may not be in "Dallas" but we are close!!!;) ;)

Wow, that's a lot of good information there, "Series 70", although I thought "Texas Shooter" had pretty much covered it, already.
I was just trying to pump up the DAPS club a little. I didn't know it was going to turn into a contest.

yes but at DAPS we have two major airports, a professional football team, the NBA western conference champs and a mass transit system in place. So that means you should only shoot at DAPS and nowhere else, EVER!!!

before feathers get ruffled I am just poking fun.

I thought I'd give Collin County IDPA a boost too. They really seem to be doing quite well considering that this year saw the closing of 2 ranges where they held their matches....Collin County Gun Range in McKinney and Backwoods Traps near Little Elm/Aubrey. The City of McKinney finally ran Collin County Gun Range out of business by regulating their hours of operation after annexation about 4-5 years ago and developers got Backwoods Traps.
Fortunately for CCIDPA www.ccidpa.org it's leadership saw the writing on the wall early on and made arrangements to operate at the ranges listed in my post above. Thanks for the kind words about CCIDPA DarinC. You guys....and gal at DAPS run a 1st Class operation too. SgtGlock...I know you sometimes shoot a 1911/2011 and like it.:):)

Dont forget that Cross Timbers IDPA (CTIDPA) www.ctidpa.com also exists and shoots in Ft. Worth and at Johnson County Shooting Association near Alvarado.

CCIDPA and DAPS both put on first rate USPSA & IDPA matches. There is one other club in Dallas I’ve shot with (when the other two cancelled due to rain). http://dallaspistolclub.com/ hosts many different types of matches, though none are IDPA/USPSA affiliated, it is another place to throw lead down range locally.

Competitions @ DPC:
Metal Mania
Real Steel
Real World Gun
Personal Protection
Bullseye (NRA Conventional Pistol)
Tactical Shotgun
Silhouette
Air Pistol / Junior Olympic Program
