Is this style holster compliant for IDPA?

As I read through Appendix A, they list these holsters under Uncle Mike's:

Uncle Mike's Side Bet, Mirage Super Belt Slide, IWB’s, Series 235, Series 234, series 53 Kydex, Sidekick

It's not clear to me whether they endorsed all of the Sidekick sub-brand of UM's...any opinions appreciated.

My circumstance...I'd like to shoot the classifier next month with my CZ-75...I think I can make this work (not ideal)...Fobus holster might work but I'd have to order it...I've heard their pretty "grabby" and don't know if I could break it in ahead of the event...or really get comfortable with it. I also have a tentative match ahead of the classifier...I'd like to shoot the CZ-75 in both.

Opinions?

The Sidekick's are on the list, so you should be fine. One thing I'll suggest: don't show up at a match with gear you haven't had a chance to put through the wringer. I had a guy at a match the other day with a clip-on Uncle Mike's go to pull his gun and the gun and holster all came out as one big unit.

It was something.

PS: I just read your other post about your Fobus coming unglued! That's too funny :)

Sounds familiar!

I really have to laugh about it...what I great story to have in my hip pocket about my 1st IDPA match!! :D

It will only get better from here I'm sure.

Thanks for the feedback on the Holster.

I expect to try to find something better long term, but I can belt slide this one...do some dry fire practice while drawing from concealment, and I should do okay until something better is acquired.

Safe shooting,

Just a reminder in regards to the posted holster. All snaps and fastners must be in place and in use during the match. The holster can not be modified or latches cut off or removed. Also, it must be concealable. I have seen guys use this holster but have a tough time concealing it since it rides too low on the hip/belt. In most cases, they get something else after a bit.

It will do for a start, but if you find you like shooting I suggest investing in some Kydex (I like Blade-tech) you'll spend about $50-$60 but it will be worth it.

Understood on retention must be used if there.

I like the look of the Blade-Tech's...but I'm looking for something temporary for my CZ-75's (already have this type as a range holster).

I wish I could make the Black Widow I bought work for me...it just seems to bunch up at the belt line and I end up with the muzzle canting in toward my body.

I can draw fine (even with the retention snap...although I lose at least 1/2 second). I'm just not thrilled with the piece canting into me.

Maybe it's just because it's new?

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Ugh. I hate those things. That was the first kind of holster I bought for myself way back when. The flop around on your belt. The draw stroke sucks. They tear up your finish. The thumb straps suck. I cringe when I see other shooters show up to use them now. :)

If it is all that you have for the classifier, use it I guess. But man, I would get that kydex on order fast so that nylon piece of crap could get thrown back into the nether regions of the holster drawer where it belongs!

I used a Fobus for a year as well, wore it out. Probably the best $20 holster out there. But I use G-Code now and I'm much happier.

You talked me into it.

Kydex Fobus Belt - CZ75BH - On order, $23.95 delivered.

Let's hope for a rapidly processed order and speedy delivery !! :D

Classifier isn't until 5/15...hopefully I can break it in before then.

Thanks to all!

:)

GRD,

I like the new intro to the web site.
See you on the 23rd.

Glad you dig it! :) Everyone wants me to put sound on it, but I hate sites with sound. :p

One of the guys on the committee designed and built us 2 swinging targets for the last match and they worked! We were amazed. They're actually very cool. Fully adjustable for start position and swing speed, no tools required. You'll see those on the 23rd. We're in the midst of trying to find an electric motor to make a disappearing target also...but it's not looking like it's going to happen in time for the next match.

We'll have the 3 classifier stages and at least one or two more stages that day. Fun all over the place! See you then.
