If any kind of .22 pistol can't be dry fire?

The reason you put snap caps in a centerfire is that it prevents the possibility of having live ammo in it.
O, that reason I never know before, But I think it is a good reason. I will do it.
Thanks!

I recommend going by the user's manual.

I have a Ruger P89 9mm. The manual doesn't mention about if I can dry fire or not. I called Ruger this morning and they said I can dry fire it not matter the magazine is in or out and I don't need to worry about at all.
Thanks!

Good 22 snap cap?

What kind of 22 snap caps do you guys recommend? I've used the polymer ones, Pachmayr I think. Pieces of junk.

Tipton markets snap caps that look identical.

I'm using empty cases but they're not quite satisfactory. I run them through the ultrasonic cleaner to get rid of any primer residue & snap them a few times before throwing them away.

Are there decent aluminum ones out there? Any that can be run through a clip or tubular magazine (rifle).

So how hard is it to confuse a snap cap for a live

round in the chamber? ALWAYS BELIEVE IT IS A LIVE ROUND AND USE THE FOUR RULES OF GUN SAFETY

I never had a .22 revolver before. I didn't know that you weren't supposed to dry fire them. I just bought a S & W 617 and I dry fired it about 150 times. Am I likely to have damaged it? How can I tell? I haven't shot it yet.

They do say that on their website, so I know it now, but I didn't know it when I bought the gun, nor did I see any warning about it.
