Have you considered defining a vital zone size of the intended target and then finding the "GEE" distance for your gun? That is the maximum range you can shoot without the trajectory of the bullet going above or below the vital zone you defined - lets say the vital zone for what you intend to shoot is 8" .. so the bullet travels no more than 4" above the point of aim or 4" below up to the GEE distance. This should minimize the concerns that you have with hold overs at intermediate ranges.

Spec for M193 is 3165 ft/sec at 26yd from a 20" barrel. This is 3280 ft/sec at the muzzle of a 20" barrel and 3180 ft/sec from a 16" barrel. Sierra Infinity calculates GEE distance if you are interested.
