open carry is legal in nc, but i would rather not. i have a ccw and carry a kimber pro covert. nc allows open carry but they stuck a little law in on the side, it`s the ( going about armed to the terror of the public law ) in other words if someone complaines to the police that by you having a gun strapped on in public scares them, then you could be arrested or at the least be ask to take your gun off. anyway there are so many looney lefties running around that think your a mad man if you even own a gun they would poop up their backs if you came into the gas station with a cocked and locked 45 hanging on your side. i would rather have mine under the jacket, to be seen only when needed..

OC is Legal here in Idaho, and more common than you would think.

Most police around here are for it and are well educated on it, but you do get the occasional liberal newbie who can be a real jerk about it.

as for special fancy guns or holsters for OC most here just go with what is most comfortable to them (even leg holsters) or whatever they can afford.

fancy carry guns and holsters tends to be viewed like a framer having a 24kt gold plated hammer, or a potato digger having a gold plated shovel.
(AKA Pointless)

I've done so once. I borrowed a nice fancy nickle plated and engraved 1911 from a family friend for my wedding.
