If you could only use one handgun for Concealed Carry and all your hunting...

Please see posting # 93 above.

I saw it. And?

It does not address or answer my questions.

Europe is an entire continent. Which country or countries are you asking about, specifically?

And are you asking about registration, or confiscation? (note that shall issue concealed carry is neither of those)

Well...thank you. No offense taken.

Sorry if it sounded too harsh. English is not my native language an I sometimes miss that things may sound different than I meant to.

I will be happy to add Austria to the list. I am a lifelong motorcyclist, and living in the land that produces the KTM is not at all off-putting. Having Italy directly southward is a plus (as I own two Ducatis).

I would recommend choosing the part of Austria carefully then. In some parts the may-issue is on par with no issue, in some parts it is on par with shall issue. Same with Slovak regions.

Unfortunately there is no CC reciprocity in Europe. The European Firearms Pass covers only hunting & sporting events, and even then the gun must be unloaded and in locked container (in some countries also taken apart).

BTW if personal freedom is what you are looking for, I would suggest avoiding German-speaking countries.

Thankfully, I don't have to go this route because I really, really hate shoulder holsters!

Of the guns I have at the moment, I would take either my Ruger Blackhawk in .45 Colt or .357 Mag, both with the 4 5/8 inch barrel. I love the .45 Colt, but it is blued, whereas the .357 Mag one is stainless and probably makes a better gun to have out in the weather during hunting season, which gets fairly wet in my area. In the end though, I'll say the .45 Colt Blackhawk. 48283040-a3b0-4a2a-9a59-58f8c26e4081_zps283e8888.jpg

You can't do better than the 4 5/8 Ruger in .45C. Years ago, I developed a load that will do it all. A 300 hard cast flat point under whatever amount of 2400 shoots the most accurately. When I found that load, I made up a huge stockpile. Now I don't remember how much powder I used, but that's okay because I'll never run out of ammo from the stockpile. I suppose I could bull a bullet and weight the charge if I wanted to make more. It's good for deer, black bear, squirrels and rabbits, and for defense if you are good with a single action.

Really tough question, I'm torn between a 625 mountain gun in .45colt or a 10mm 1911. Here in the land of stinkin I'd lean towards the 10, up in the north woods obvious choice would be the .45.

Thank goodness I don't have to pick just one handgun for various tasks, but if I had to it would be my 4" 586. While it's far from the best for C/C to big and heavy, but it can be done. The 4" barrel is shorter than I would prefer for hunting, but it can be done. Finally, as with any .357 Magnum revolver there is a huge selection of ammo choices.
