For some reason, for months now, the local Outdoor World/Bass Pro has Break-Free Lubricant Preservative in the 4 ounce squeeze bottles instead of CLP. The price tag on the shelf though says that CLP should be there.

I'm wondering if this is intentional or a mistake. Check your Bass Pro and see if it's the same.

While on the subject, is Lubricant Preservative worth buying instead of CLP for any reason other than full-auto guns (which I don't own)? Is it the same as Break-Free Collector?

Break Free is the brand name. They make multiple products.

See http://www.break-free.com for more details

They make CLP in multiple forms and bottles, LP, Collector (preservative, not sure how it differs chemically from LP though), CLP weapon-wipes, Carbon Cutter, Powder Blast, etc. etc. etc. A pretty large number of gun cleaning products.

the local one still has CLP in the aerosol cans, but I don't like the aerosol because... well, to put it bluntly.... it's kind of like that scene in Dumb and Dumberer where Bog Saget's character walks into the bathroom covered in what he thinks is excrement.

OH MY GAWD! IT'S EVERYWHERE!!! IT'S ON THE WALLS! IT'S ON THE CEILING!!!!! etc. etc.

Gun Cleaner in aersol cans and me just don't get along unless it's Gun Scrubber used over a sink or outside. Otherwise the stuff just ends up everywhere I don't want it to be, including on me and on the floor. I like the squeeze bottles much more.

how do you use the gallon size? Transfer it to little bottles as you use it, or does it have some sort of pump/tube setup?

I always assumed the gallon setup was for machinist shops or something.
