If you got a job as an armored truck or security guard

If I took a job as an armored care trucker or a security guard I'd probably shoot myself and save everyone the trouble of this discussion.

You could, perhaps, consider getting an education.

If I had my choice it would be one of the following:
1911 .45
Glock 23
Sig 229 in 40
Revolver would be a Ruger Sec. 6

Pistola for Armored Work...

Howdy,

Played that very game for a few years, and if you have the option of carrying the piece of your choice, I would recommend that you choose one that you can operate with one hand. You will no doubt have items in your off hand if some dirtbag tries his luck. That's when they show up. Don't get a cheap holster, either. Think "retention".

Don't worry about shooting from the firing port with your handgun. That's what LONG guns are for. Your pistol/revolver will not be of much help at most distances (they're either too far away, or too close to aim at). You'll be working in PUBLIC, think about your background. You may end up accidentally firing a round inside the truck. That really gets to be loud. Ricochets suck.

The company you hire on with will let you know what they will allow weapon-wise. When I worked for AT, they allowed anything on the approved list for L.A. Sheriff's Dept.. I often times carried more than one weapon, almost always in .45ACP.

My personal opinion? The Glock is your friend.
