A question just for fun.

PUt all fanboy and dislikes aside for a moment.

If you were going to invest all your retirement $ into ONE gun company who would it be?

What company do you think is set up best for the most long term growth and/or profits?

It may not be the company you think makes the best or your favorite firearm....just which one is in the best position from a purely business standpoint.

*****disclaimer I realize it would be a poor idea to invest all your money into 1 company. I also realize some companies are publicly traded and some are not....lets not get too technical.....remember this is just for fun:D

for me it is Ruger. They have built a loyal following and their new products seem to be some of the most talked about product when they are released.

Offer a wide and deversified line of products. Good Reputation for products and Customer Service and seem to do a real good job with research and development.

Say what you will about them....I do think they have "taken" a few idea from other companies ...such as kel tec....but it seems to be a solid strategy

x2 for the Ruger. They have a wide range of guns, a rep for reliability and durability, reasonably priced, and I know for a fact that their CS is top notch.

EDIT: Though I own a few, I'm not a fanboi. Their refusal to make 10rd mags for the Mini-30 is simply... I don't know... what's the word? I know it's infuriating.

The market for DA .22 revolvers is red hot right now. Ruger needs to come out with a reasonably priced .22 wheelgun. Rumor has it the SP101 is gonna be offered in .22LR again. So maybe...

Over the past year, Ruger stock has done a lot better than Smith & Wesson Holding Company. Smith & Wesson stock hasn't traded in the range that Ruger is trading at now since the summer of 2007.

Ruger - they make more products than just guns. I believe the the only year they lost money was their first year in business.

Investment advice is not appropriate for THR.
