Pass a law like this, and then wonder why business and revenue for the state drops... when companies take their business elsewhere. Good grief. Is there any hope to beat the Chicago/Poop county democratic machine?

Just because they banned them for their average subjects doesn't necessarily mean they'd not allow them to continue to be produced and sold outside the state.

I am no expert on lawyer speak, but what else could this mean?

it is unlawful for any person within this State to knowingly manufacture, deliver, sell, purchase, or possess or cause to be manufactured, delivered, sold, purchased, or possessed a semi-automatic assault weapon,

Now it does say

(d) This Section does not apply to or affect any of the following:

(1) Peace officers as defined in Section 2-13 of this Code and retired peace officers not otherwise prohibited from receiving a firearm, in possession of a semi-automatic assault weapon, assault weapon attachment, or .50 caliber rifle transferred to the retired peace officer by his or her law enforcement agency upon retirement.

(2) Wardens, superintendents, and keepers of prisons, penitentiaries, jails, and other institutions for the detention of persons accused or convicted of an offense.

(3) Members of the Armed Services or Reserve Forces of the United State or the Illinois National Guard, while in the performance of their official duties or while traveling to or from their place of duty.

(4) Manufacture, transportation, or sale of weapons, attachments, or ammunition to persons authorized under subdivisions (1) through (3) of this subsection to possess those item

but that doesn't seem to include out of state sales.

Let's stay focused on the course of action that kills this instead of ranting about conditions in IL. Rants don't contribute to getting anything done.

It's really already over. It didn't have a chance of passing, all the governor did was poison a bill that would have clarified Internet ammunition purchases.

So that bill is toxic now and the sponsor will have to reintroduce a smiliar bill next year. I didn't think it was that big of a deal, I order ammo over the Internet and never have a problem, I know others in Illinois do too.
