This chick is a turd... when was the last time anyone in this country was killed by a .50 calibre rifle round anyways??? The Civil War??????? God people are stupid. Now, how many animals were taken with calibers OVER .50??? Lots!!! Try most anything blackpowder. Her argument is solely based on scare tactics and the false belief that she is actually going to make us safer by "banning sniper rifles"... god it would sure help a lot more people if you banned 9mm's... at least they really kill people... shot by cops as well.

Ah Tecumseh you are not alone. I have been thinking of fleeing over the river. If Dailey JR.........ummmm I mean Rod Blagoyahoweverthehellyouspellit gets relecred this November I feel California style gun laws comming our way. Its sad I become more, and more un-patriotic everyday :( .
 
We got a few of those :barf: flyers :barf: in the mail the other day. My roomate found them and put one in my gun case. I flipped out when I saw it :) but then I hung it on the refrigerator.

I like the part about hunting people with the 50 cal. Also, the part about being "designed to shoot down aircraft" is pretty funny too. I always thought that shoulder fired rockets were designed to do that. It'd be a heck of a lot easier too I imagine. If you can hit a jet with a 50cal, then you sure as heck can hit it with a .30 cal, which will do the same thing. Nothing.

The M249 (I think thats what it is) is great too. Instead of putting "for sale in Illinois", it should say "so expensive you can trade it for a mercedes". I don't think you can even have a FA in IL.

The belt-fed pictured is an M-240 class III (auto, silencers, etc) are not legal in Illinois unless you are mil, gov, l.e, or class III stocking dealer with a demonstration letter from a police dept. And yes the cost of that M-240 if it were transferable to an Illinois resident would be ungodly. Very few were registered before 86. I saw a transferable example go at auction once for $220k :what: . Antis play on fear, and ignorance. As far as I know a Barret 50cal rifle has never been used in commision of a violent crime in this country ever. Gangbangers dont buy massive, $3000.00 rifles to use in drive byes.

I'm fortunate that both my Congressman and Illinois State legislators are pro gun. (Our Senators are just a lost cause. Durbin lies through his teeth and Obama spends all his time posing for 2008 campaign posters.)

In fact Christine Radogno my state Senator, now running against that mob enabler Giannoulis for Treasurer, is an NRA member.

I'd say let Ms. Jacobson know the truth, but you'd be wasting a stamp or phone call.

But for anyone else you might meet out there when the discussion turns to guns and "sensible gun control", it's worth pointing out that the .50 cal, has a unique distinction. It has never been used in any kind of crime in the United States.

In fact, in the whole state of Illinois in 2005 rifles of ANY kind were only used in 3 (or 4?) crimes, according to the FBI. How "sensible" is it to spend time and money banning a gun that has never been used in a crime?

But what the heck, let's ban 'em anyway. More phony "feelgood" answers.

Of the innocent children pictured in the photo, how many of them would really, really, really enjoy shooting that M240?

I do agree with Naomi in one respect: that Barrett is a little too much for those tykes. Should probably get them started on a few smaller rifles first, focus on the basics of sight alignment and sight picture.
