Chicago gun owners had until Feb.12, 2007 to remove newly banned firearms from Cook Co. or turn them over to police...Sen. Emil Jones and Rep. Acevedo of Chicago have filed legislation calling for a statewide "assault weapons" ban.

It isn't. However, exactly what are you going to do about it? Write a letter? Maybe post an op ed? Court challenge? :banghead:

First off the state of Illinois did not ban assault weapons. Cook County did. Second off, it's old news, happened at least 90 days ago, there were several threads about it here at the time it happened.

The law is already being challenged in court.

Since we already had this discussion I'm closing this as a dupilcate. I suggest a search next time and at least be accurate with your thread title.
