Did Gov Blagojevich sign an AWB today? I was watching CLTV and they just reported a few minutes ago that the Gov signed a bill that outlaws "AK-47 rifles among other types of weapons." I did a quick search and could only find this and this. Both of these say nothing about an AWB. Did the anti's sneak one in past us?

I'll keep searching for now ....

I heard something on the radio about Rod wanting to use retired CPD, ISP and even possibly the National Guard to patrol Chicago.

My first thought was, "Why not call out the militia instead ??" :D

Which is exactly what Blagojevich is proposing.

This is all one sentence - and I really have no idea what it says! Only in law.
Provides that a person 18 years of age or older convicted of unlawful sale of firearms by selling or giving a concealable firearm to a person under 18 years of age or by selling or giving a firearm of any size to a person under 18 years of age who does not possess a valid Firearm Owner's Identification Card, when the firearm that was sold or given to another person under 18 years of age was used in the commission of or attempt to commit a forcible felony, shall be fined or imprisoned, or both, not to exceed the maximum provided for the most serious forcible felony so committed or attempted by the person under 18 years of age who was sold or given the firearm.

Nope, I didn't dream it. Two witnesses in the room with me when I saw and heard it and one upstairs (watching the same channel). We all said, "What?!?" simultaneously. I ran right to the computer to check it out and then posted about it here (to get help searching).

Apparently they made a mistake (or it was wishful thinking on the news anchor's part) since it was not repeated in the next half-hour. The story came back the following half-hour minus the AK-47 reference. For those wondering, CLTV is a cable based, local Chicago news station that runs on a half-hour cycle.

Sorry for the scare.
