Illinois gubernatorial candidates on guns

I contacted my nearest ISRA Rep. last night to ask what was up with them endorsing Dillard over Brady and got the answer that the ISRA Political Victory Fund picked Dillard for "reasons I can't discuss".

I can't believe with those vague typical "politician" answers, that they endorsed Dillard.
the ISRA Political Victory Fund picked Dillard for "reasons I can't discuss".
Perhaps Dillard is publicly keeping a low profile on the gun control issue hoping to attract votes from people who aren't strong gun-rights supporters, but privately he has reassured gun rights groups that he will be a staunch ally if elected.

That is still the mark of a scumbag politician. He should be open on his stances and represent them openly. I think he should not be afraid to show what he things to us. Like George Bush and his anti-gun beliefs in regards to the assault weapons ban.

I want honesty. If they aren't honest with this issue, what other issue are they not being honest about?

OldSkoolFan... "scumbag politician" is sadly redundant. Kirk Dillard seems to have the edge/support. I do know several people that know him, perhaps know him well. I haven't had the chance to talk to them yet, but intend to. Dillard lives two communities over from me, and I thought I'd have the PERFECT chance to talk with him on the July 4th parade in his hometown. I was driving a car in the parade and he was supposed to be in MY car! But... he didn't even show up in his OWN hometown parade. I drove his Mother instead. Nice Lady, but I didn't feel it was appropriate to grill her about her son's views and positions. :D I also know a guy who is involved in local politics in my hometown, and he seems to know more than he is willing to let on about Dillard's views... but they seem positive for 2A and CCW concerns. I'm still not sure how I will vote on this, but VOTE I WILL.

This argument shouldn't even be going on. Our right to bear arms is protected by the constitution. Period. Illinois laws are rediculous!
