Does anyone have any verifiable word on the status of straight case ammunition for rifles/carbines and their legality for deer in Illinois. I have tried the DNR site, discussion forums, and the bull sessions at the club. Rumors that it is so can't be verified.

Looking at the IL regs, I still did not see ANY centerfire rifles being authorized.
Nor any rumors thereto.
