I have real stags for a few of my revolvers, but I love fake stag grips, and I don't know why. I mostly collect them for future gun purchases.

Tacky and unsophisticated...YES!...so let's see yours!

Were you interested in guns as a child, perhaps had a toy gun with stag grips on it. Sometimes these things follow us to adult hood. I know it did for me. Saw some old kennedy assassination footage and noticed a cop had stag gripped colt nickel .38 in his holster, been wanting stag grip inserts for the ruger I carry.

Yep. I had a Roy Rogers cap gun with fake stags back in the day.

The fake ones up top are about the best fakes I've ever seen. Usually they look like a monkey drew them with a magic marker.

I prefer the real thing as well...

I guess I misunderstood the post. I like fake stag. I have some cheesy Fitz grips from the 60s. And the jayscott variety, I also have some black pearl that look like they were made from a bowling ball. I have never been able to drop the hammer on a real pair, when I could buy a gun for the same money. I like the one in the 1st post the best. I dont think youse guys are as hard on your hardware.

Pezo's cap gun theory is dead on.
