I'm almost ashamed of myself,,,
But happy at the same time.

I just found out that a local retail store started selling guns and ammo,,,
Then I found that an acquaintance of mine is the assistant manager,,,
So I asked him if he could call me when they get any .22 ammo in.

Barely 24 hours after I made that request he called me up,,,
He said, "There are 3 boxes of rimfire waiting for you."

Since I drive by the store on my way home anyways,,,
It was no big deal to pop in and buy the ammo.

I told him how much I appreciated this favor,,,
But I didn't want him to get into trouble.

He said it was no big deal because the manager said it was okay,,,
And he'll call me every time he lays back ammo for me.

It seems each employee can lay back 3 boxes for their use from each shipment,,,
Since he doesn't own a .22 rifle or handgun I can have his ration.

So now I finally have a person on the inside,,,
I offered to take him shooting some day,,,
He said that's a fair trade for him,,,
And he'll bring his own ammo.

I'm so happy I could just do a dance. :D

Shall I brush your suede shoes before you retire for the evening my Lord??

Sometimes, it's not what you know, but who you know. Given what I know about you taking new shooters to the range, aarondgraham, this doesn't cause me a bit of heartburn.

I'd like to be able to condemn you, but I can't as if I was in your spot I would take the ammo happily so I wouldn't feel too ashamed if I were you. Lol. However, if you want to assuage some guilt, I'd say share with some of your friends who haven't been able to find .22.

CoThG:
That's a very nice .22 supply, but prefer my 6,700 rds. of 7.62x39. Well done for many of you guys planning far ahead with .22LR.

At least x39 is very cheap (for modern centerfire) and so far there has not been any "run" on it. And it shatters the solid targets.

Awesome. :scrutiny:

You should feel ashamed of yourself because it's action like these that are causing this mess. Do you ever honestly think things are going to get better, if people like YOU are buying up ammo before it ever hits the store shelf??

+1, and for only about twice what .22 cost nowadays :)

I don't see a problem with this. Friends help each other out, everything's above board in terms of the transaction, and as others have posted, many times it's really who you know that can make things happen.

It's just that at 62 years of age,,,

This is really the first time I've been on this end of the deal.

For years though I've been taking newbies to the range,,,
I've always fronted the ammo for those outings,,,
Lately the cost hasn't been the problem,,,
It's replacing the ammo we use up.

So it's nice to see the ammo stock going up,,,
Even if it's just a box or three at a time.

I would take this deal in a heartbeat and smile a toothy grin at anyone who feels that:

Someone always has to be jealous. I bet if they had an opportunity to stand in your shoes (with the .22 connection) they would feel differently.

As a fellow shooter, Im happy for you - as long as you shoot it and dont resell it for a huge markup.

If you were trying to fill the cellar with it or flip it then----maybe. But to use it as you have reported in the past it sounds like the reward for doing the right thing for a long time. I'll pass no judgment of your deal.:)

May I touch the hem of your robe?

need a like or +1 button on here that is just beautifully funny stuff

Yeah, I laughed out loud at that myself. ;)

BTW,,,
That 150 rounds will be gone this weekend,,,
A young lady I've taken out has a new (to her) .22 pistol,,,
After her Pop saw the picture of her shooting my Rossi 511 revolver,,,
He dug into his gun cabinet and sent her home with a clean Ruger Single Six.

I'm failing to see how the above point is validated being that the OP stated...

Cooldill said an ugly thing. I think maybe he's not serious. Anyway, I'd take that kind of scenario anytime I could get it. Congrats!
