Thats right. I am thinking about selling it. I have become more and more comfortable with carrying the 75B C&L and I can't do that with the P-01. So, I am thinking about getting a 75B compact. Then it could match my fullsized 75B. :D I really really like my P-01 but I feel that I really want a Manual Safety.

What do you think? Good idea, bad idea, indifferent?

Or should I just scrap the whole 'carrying a CZ' thing and get a glock 19? :D

I say go with what you are comfortable with.

I sold my P-01 not because it wasn't a spectacular pistol just because I am more comfortable and like SIG's better. So my P-01 became a P229 and I have no regrets.

I personally prefer decockers to C&L but to each their own.

One thing I didn't like about my P-01, the only thing really, was the front strap grip cuts seemed really sharp and would irritate my fingers after a hundred or so hot rounds.

My rule is never sell a gun for anything else other than another gun. That keeps the gun gods happy. :D

I was going to get a 75 Compact until the 85 Compact came out, I picked that up in stead. For a carry gun I think the 75 would be easier to conceal as it's thinner in the slide at the end and doesn't have the large ambi safety.

I say keep the P-01 and save up for the compact or find someone who will trade you straight for a used one. My advice is, don't rush :)

Keep the P-01. Save for something else.

I'll NEVER rid myself of my PCR. Like Snowman, I also have an 85 Compact. I love it, but due to its weight, I stIll carry the PCR..

I am also warming up to C/L carry. I have a new GP100 on the way, but after that I may wander into 1911 territory ( Colt 1991A1 ) or wait to see what tasty CZ models crop up in the coming months. :D

Hrmm... Well, my PCR is pretty close to your P-01 and my PCR is my favorite carry gun ever so I'm pretty biased. :p

But if you aren't happy with it and funds are tight, then get what will benefit you more.

Personally, I like the alloy frame. To my hands, the PCR balances better than the 75B Compact. And I'm not crazy about cocked and locked carry on a DA/SA gun. But I would stringly consider an alloy framed Compact converted to single action only with a metal stick trigger. If I could get that for under $500... ;)

The P-01 eliminates the major virtue of the CZ 75/85 series: the nice cocked and locked SA trigger. It's just another TDA, although probably the best of that sorry lot. The 75B Compact makes more sense, although the size and weight savings may be too slight to give up the full size, even for carry.

Of course if you just flat love the design, that's a good enough reason to have a big one and a little one, regardless of how slight the differences are. Why else would somebody want S&W revolvers in both 2 1/2" and 3" lengths? (Guess who?)
