Ive owned a few Sparks, a Kramer and a Rosen. My new Galco N3 is actually sewn nicer than one of the three I just mentioned. The quality of the leather and the boning is very nice also. Why all the Galco bashing on so any sites?

I've got one Galco IWB leather holster and like it a lot, I think I've had it close to 10 years now. I wasn't aware anyone bashed them though.

i think all the galco bashing is from those who buy they chepest galco available and then they wonder why it isnt as good as a high end custom piece of leather:banghead:.

my wife has one of the upper end galco holsters and you are correct, it is very nice and i am sure it will last for many years.

They tend to get no love on the "other" internet gun sites, especially amongst the custom holster fan boys. They are quite often referred to as "junk".

Their higher end stuff is great. Their cheap stuff is complete crap, as expected for that kind of price.

People like their custom stuff. They feel special because they had to wait 6 months for their limited edition holster. They don't like that you can get a holster of similar quality without the wait and a slightly smaller price from your local gun store. Makes them feel less special.

ETA: I'm one of the guys who (not currently, though) likes their custom, limited edition stuff. I think Sparks, Rosen, etc. make awesome stuff, and it's nice to have hand made things. But I do own a few Galco and Desantis items.

I have a Galco King Tuck and a Galco matrix m7x holster. The King Tuck was about 60.00 and the M7X was around 25.00. I have other brands of holsters that costed more, but these two are my go to holsters.

Why all the Galco bashing on so any sites?
If I were to bash Galco, it would be for their "generic fit". If I wanted a holster for a 5" 1911 and one for a Browning Hi-Power, they would sell me the exact same holster. While the two pistols are somewhat similar, they aren't close enough dimensionally, in my opinion, to use the same holster, though I know people do it all the time.

On the other hand, some custom holster makers even go to the extent to differentiate their holsters for a Hi-Power between the 9MM and .40S&W models.

I like Kramer and Sparks, and have many for other guns, but I had to budget a bit and find a left hand holster for a Beretta 92. I found a nice Galco vertical draw on ebay. Very good quality, and does everything tha the other two do with a similar design.

I still like my Galco NS3 IWB holster, however, the overall quality of my new Mernickle PS6 rig is unquestionably nicer.

The King Cobra and I both love the first Galco I bought. Of course, you'll seldom see me post a... "what's the cheapest..." thread soon to be followed by a "... just lost a customer..." thread, so there's that.

Much prettier than my washed-out photos would lead one to believe.
