Its a 32-20 from 2006. The metal, Metal to wood fitting is seamless. the bolt drops in the lead and full lock-up occurs right when the hammer reaches full cock. trigger pull was 3pounds 4 oz from the box -down to 2 lbs 14 oz with light jeweller's rouge polish. the front sight came extra high making it possible to file to correct poi while the horizontal sight adjustment is perfect or close to perfect.

It has the spring-plunger hand spring setup and is obviously made for active shooters and those who will know right away whether or not they have gotten an accurate revolver. This one came with the traditional pre-1892 "black powder" frame with the screw attachment for the base pin. a tradition screw was in the box and it had a knurled knob headed screw which would be handy for an action shooter but detracts from the traditional appearance of the revolver. Handling characteristics are virtually identical to a 1918 colt 32-20 we shot the same day.

I almost blurted out " They were."
The current ones though do not seem like a poor relation to the original colts.

It looks very nice. When I originally wanted to purchase a SAA or clone I looked quite a bit at the Cimarron Model P. I ended up going with US Firearms and in the course of several different models I've settled on my current pair of two US Firearms Pre-War revolvers in .38 Special.

Often times people refer to the "old times" when it comes to firearms and talk about the quality and quantity of excellent firearms from the past. I can say with absolute certainty that today's shooters have the widest and best selection of SAA type revolvers that has ever been. Its somewhat ironic that in the age of the high capacity auto pistol that the old SAA is thriving.

I know what you mean I have a artillary model p 45 colt.smoooooth shoots POA. and even has all the right markings (not marked 45l.c. or 45 long colt).
IIRC yours is marked 32wcf is it not?

I have a prewar too- 45 Colt- and was prepared to forgive a bit of disappointment with the Model P. the Prewar is better and more refined of course but the Model P doens't give up very much to it.
