We have had quite a few Ruger Wrangler threads here recently. A couple dealing with accuracy.

So I was at the indoor range today with a friend trying out his new S&W M&P 10mm. Great gun by the way.

I decided to do an impromptu accuracy test with my newer Ruger Wrangler. I had a bunch of Remington Thunderbolt, about half a box of Federal bulk pack 40 grn, and about 50 rounds of CCI Mini Mag. I put a target out at 7 yards and shot one full cylinder through it of each ammo..

The high shot on the Remington and the low shot on the CCI were called pulled shots so I gave those a second try.

Overall I continue to be very pleased with this cheap little gun. The sights aren't great but it's just plain fun to shoot. I need to put some decent grips on the gun to make it look beter.

Also, Scottsdale Gun Club is a nice range but it's a far drive for me. Though I do get to see some beautiful cars whenever I go. It is Scottsdale after all.

My standard Wrangler is more accurate in my hands than my Birdshead, but neither would win any bullseye competition with me shooting them. ;)

I put some Altamonts on the Wrangler and some off of Amazon on the Birdshead (Forgot the maker :(). Both sets were not very pricy, and they look/feel a heck of a lot better than the credit card thin, plastic originals.

Stay safe.

Hum, hasn't anyone told you that Remington thunderbolts are about the sorriest 22 ammo made? :D If not go to RFC and learn the truth. I have had pretty good luck with it too but haven't tried any in 'ol scattershot, my wrangler. Considering what it does with mini-mags and SV it probably won't make a difference.

My compliments on your shooting skill and luck with picking out a good wrangler.

Found these grips on Amazon. Don't recall who the vendor was but they look pretty nice, at least as faux ivory goes. Be advised that though they were labeled as being made for the Wrangler, they required quite a bit of work on them to get them to fit properly.

I actually ordered a set of the black pearl grips off of Amazon. Should be here over the weekend. They weren't very expensive, so we'll see how the quality is.

Grips came in today. Im actually very pleased with them for 30 something bucks they cost. One thing that the pictures dont show is the white in the grips kind of shimmer when you move the grips around in the sun. Id give fitment a 9/10 score. There is some very slight gaps at the front top of the loading port side grip. You can kind of see it in the photo. If I had spent 150 dollars on these grips I *might* be a little upset with the fitment. But for 30 bucks, I think they are great.

Both of mine have been supremely accurate with whatever 40 grain lrn you can shove in the cylinder.

I don't shoot paper generally, cans, bottled, reactive targets, dirt clods. They are always right on. My pistol range has a steel target at the back, 22-25 yards.

I always hear a pop...little bit later, ting!

Minute of whatever I'm aiming at @20 yards is about what they're made for. Imo
