Improved "May Issue" for Iowa?

Funny how "rights" can be made into "privileges" at the drop of a hat.

The proper term is "devaluation." It's a protracted form of nullification.

...in case the Commissioner of DPS gets too narrow with his/her interpretation of legislative intent, the annual report will illuminate this for all to see. Also, since the report will be county-by-county, it will also highlight any significant impediments to issuing by any particular sheriff.

Illumination never intimidates tyrants.

The proposed amendment apparently has a typo. It inserts a requirement for states being considered for reciprocity to have equal or greater "restrictions", not "training". If you're contacting representatives about HF2753, please note your resistance to the amendment as written.

The bill is apparently scheduled for debate next Monday (3/27).

any updates?

the iowa legislator site navigation & content are extremely frustrating

Don't mean to sound negative, but it has almost no chance of ever making it past past Visacks desk....and there's not the support to override a veto.

Most people don't know this, but when Vilsack was a city council member prior to being governor.....a disgruntled citizen came to a council meeting and open fire with a handgun killing the mayor and I believe another person. Vilsack then became the mayor and later ran for his present office.....he has never signed a pro-gun or pro-hunting piece of legislation. The only hope of seeing this pass will be when a new governor takes his place.
