I started a thread a few weeks ago on what people think of the kimber solo carry and it seems like they had nothing but complaints about the gun. I love the looks of the gun It definitley has better lines for carry then the kahr does but I do have noticed a few improvements that kimber should consider in the future.

1 The barrel length of 2.7 inches is a little to short to be reliable in my opinion, just look at the rohrbaugh R9 it has a slightly longer 2.9 inch barrel and according to the owner of the company it can only fire 200 rounds until the springs start wearing out so whats going to happen to the kimber with an even shorter barrel.

2 Something I noticed when I held one at a gun show is that the trigger seems to be awkwardly designed its overly curved and digs into your trigger finger I think kimber should have gone with something a little more similar to the kahrs trigger design which I think is very comfortable.

3 The ambidextrous design seems like a good idea but on a gun this size I think its a little impractical, The mag release can be accidentally pushed when shooting ( or so i've heard) and as for the thumb saftey I don't even know why it's there. For a subcompact gun with a long heavy trigger I'm not even sure why a thumb saftey is needed maybe it's something to keep the lawyers happy or to prevent kahr from suing them for copying there design in any case I don't like it or the ambidextrious design of the gun itself.

Those are the things that I think should be improved before I consider buying one its a neat little gun and like I said in the above I love the looks of it but Its far from perfect. I think they should have made something closer in size to the ruger lc9 if they wanted to make a small 9mm but thats just me.
