yesterday I found a big hunk of round steel that looks perfect for target practice. I have yet to try it out yet though.
It appears to be an old flywheel, probably from a tractor. It's about 18" across and about an inch thick. I doubt any gun I own could even put a dent into it.
Now I have gotten started thinking what else could make a good improvised option to shooting real steel targets. Real steel targets are pretty darned expensive compared to the free flywheel that I found.
