New Mag, where in WA?

I also have the 10FP-LE2A. You came out ahead with the HS Precision stock; they will NOT sell one separately for the rifle. Mine came with the Choate stock--I mounted a Bell and Carlson Duramaxx on it.

Mine will shoot 168 grain Federal GM Match into an inch or less all day long, and will do it from a cold, clean barrel to point of aim. It is 100% factory otherwise--came from the box with the AccuTrigger set at 2.5 lb. Perfect!

I have a Burris 6-24x50mm XTR mounted on it. I hope you get some high powered glass for that rifle--it is capable of reaching out there.

I use my Savage as a duty rifle. Need I say more about dependability and accuracy? You did well!

Powderman...I'm in the Tacoma area

I will get a HP scope someday but I don't want to settle so I will save up and get a good one.

What part of the state are you located in?

Be safe..God Bless.

I did a little more research on the mcmillan vs hs

I mentioned that perhaps the mcmillan was more because of the name.
Well that may be somewhat true but is also apears to be because the mcmillan is a superior stock.

Should I look for any problems with the HS (I love the way it fits me)???

Or is the HS good and the mcmillan a Great Stock?

sorry for my ignorance here.

Both the McMillan and the HS Precision stocks are excellent; the only real difference is that you can have the McMillan in an assortment of configurations.

The main question is if the stock fits YOU.

Without going into all of the sundry details of stock fit, I'll relate simply what I have learned through experience: When you can actually snuggle up to the stock and assume a comfortable shooting position that you can literally hold for hours; when it actually feels like you can hug the rifle and pull it in REALLY tight without strain, and from that position can shoot without losing the sight picture in recoil, the stock fits.

This is too funny. I just put a Savage 10FCP McMillanA5 DBM on lay-away this weekend. It's part of why I joined this sight. It looks just like this pic, but already had a Harris bipod installed as well. It was $1099.

Domino. Yes it does have the detachable magazine.

Sabbath wolf...very nice. I will be getting a bipod at the gun show tomorrow.

I have handled both stocks now and honestly the HS makes me feel more confident in the way it fits. Then again I do not have your "normal" body shape. I am 6' 4" 320lbs...however I don't know if that is making a difference here.

Thanks for all the input.
God Bless,
Shane

the most accurate rifle i ever shot was a savage.my savage 12bvss that i bought used for $538.i hate my heavy laminate stock though.

My Savage

Good gun that you will love this is my 300 win Mag. I have added a King Armory 1830 brake but the gun still looks pretty much the same. PS I out-shoot the other 300's and besides that they just look sexy...LOL
