Hello everyone. First let me say yes I know every barrel is different and yes I am going to test my own loads so please don't tell me that.

My current favorite rifle cartridge is the 30-06. I have several very accurate loads using different bullets for my bolt action rifles with 4350 and an M1 load using a 150gr bullet and 4895. The thing is, I see a lot of good reports on the Enduron line of powders so I picked up a pound of 4451 to try. I'm going to run probably 7 or 8 test loads from 53gr to 56.5gr with a 168gr match bullet and see what I can see.

Now for my question, has any one found an impressively accurate 30-06 load using a 168gr match bullet and IMR4451 yet? Like I said, I know every rifle is different but sometimes and accurate load is an accurate load, like 57.0gr IMR4350 under a 168gr Sierra or Hornady match bullet. It would be nice to see if my testing would match up with some others.

I hope this powder lives up to what I've read about it.

I use it as well in 6.5CM with the Sierra 142grn, excellent accuracy so far. I still use IMR4895 in the .30-06, so I'm afraid I won't be much help, but I think IMR4451 should work well.

I tried it in 6.5 CM as well, as an alternative to unobtanium H4350, it produced very good results. Then I lucked into a bucket of H4350 so I moved on. Sorry, no help with 30.06.

Is it in the range of H4350 and IMR4350?

I have a great 168g load for my 30-06 using IMR4350. So good that I bought 8 pounds of it so not likely that I will be adding a new powder to my ever growing assortment.

That said, I’m curious to know what your tests show

I'm not using IMR-4350 in my 270 but I did try IMR-4415 and it was on par with H-4350 I was using. I have couple 30-06 and Hornady new manual has loading data 30-06 with IMR-4451. Since I had some, I decide to try in my Kreiger barrel 243 with 95gr bullets, looks good so far. Never know

According to the burn rate charts it seems to be slightly faster than 4350. I also have had excellent results with both 4350 powders. @100 yards I actually shot a .34" 3 shot group. I know it's only 3 shots but still...

I will be following this thread with a lot of interest. I am still new at reloading and have only done .380 and 9mm to date.

When I start with rifle it will be 30.06. I already have a lb of 4451 but not the bullets, dies, trimmer, gauges. Maybe latter this year.

Right now all my reloading allowance seems to be going into components to feed those hungry pistols. Dang... I thought I was going to save money by reloading. Silly me:confused::confused::confused:

A heroin addiction is most likely cheaper than a handloading hobby, lol
