RIP

...

Life goes by - quick

Do not take it for granted and appreciate all those, of the past, (and present) that made a positive impact on one's life..

That way, they still have a life/voice/purpose, by those that carry-on where they left off..

They all smile when we bring something positive to the table and share the_joy - they did

They were/are all "gifts"

I never knew Stephen A. Camp and Byron Quick passed away :( but I do remember both names.

I remember Byron Quick moderating on THR from time to time just within the past few years. This thread is somewhat shocking to me.

Dear Ala Dan,

thank you for posting this thread.

My deepest condolences to the families, and friends of the loss of their loved ones.

I am happy to say I have no names to add.

I am proud to say I was a close friend to member Silent One for several decades. His illness brought much sadness to those that cared for him. He passed on May 2nd 2010.

Some remember Silent One as the guy that made wooden 1911 grips. He was a USMC Vietnam veteran, husband, and father of four.

My thread is long overdue.

I wish to thank the entire High Road community. Manny spend considerable time here, and made quite a few friends.

The High Road family brought much happiness, and joy to him over the years he was a member here.

In his final weeks, we would sit in front of the "puter", and browse through the threads. Had some good times together, thanks to The High Road.

He wanted to be remembered as giving his all.

"Semper Fidelis'' my friend.

I joined too late to know them, but some of their good posts and discussions ultimately drew me into joining this board when I got exiled from The Firing Line.

Thank you Video Sir-

for the nice comments. Yes, our friend silent one (Manny) was a man among
men. Those of us that were blessed too know him, really were honored to
know one of America's best; as he was an inspiration too all. Manny never
complained 'bout his illness, or anything else. We talked many times about
our military service, guns, and the love of our country and families; and of
course, our friendship. He is missed by all in my household; as we hold on
too cherished memories of Manny~!

Semper Fi My Brother,
May You Forever Rest In Peace

*Just to clarify, I knew of the silent ones passing almost immediately; but to
honor his wife Carol's request, I did refrain from posting here or any other
forum.

I just found out today and am sickened. It feels the same as when I heard Col. Cooper passed. We are losing our country to MTV and Rappers and I felt that these men kept our old values alive.
The man who owns mouseguns.com is also on his deathbed from malignant melanoma (http://www.mouseguns.com/). These men taught me much, I owe them for their thoughts, advice and inspiration.
Today I am sad.

The best way to honor good men is to teach young men to grow into their footprints. Get after it, Boys.

I should say young PEOPLE.

I don't post often, but I tell everyone who will listen what a great community THR is.

This thread absolutely proves it.

Thank you all for allowing me to be here.
