the absolute biggest was a 16X58 on the battleship Wisconsin when i visited it offshore in Korea. the barrel was 16 FEET and 8 inches long with a bore to crawl into. the projectile, cant call this a bullet, was near tall as self and weighed a little over a ton. that is a load of grains. in handguns, the biggest, longest i have owned and fired is my shadow grey .454 SRH with the 9 inch bbl. i have let all my friends that wanted to shoot it. because of its size, it is not unpleasant. and, SRHs are not known to be delicate little vest pocket mousers. i went into the gunstore to get a SnW 500, but, was told they had had one on order for six weeks with little hope. so, i said "hell, gimme that Ruger". after all this holiday stuff is over, i plan to get the Smith ordered. i hear they are more available now, and, maybe some of the bugs i hear about are worked out. the Ruger could have been one of those blessings in disguise. i will end up with the Smith in the end. gonna find out if all i hear about that big darlin' is true. oh, that first shot.
