In terms of barrel length...

In terms of handgun barrel length (which is what I assume you're referring to, since this is a Handguns forum) the longest handgun barrel I've seen is a 14" Thompson-Center Encore barrel. I've seen some single-shot blackpowder pistols with 10" to 12" barrels.

Other than the TC handguns, ive seen Taurus rimfires with 12 inch barrels.

The Paris Gun tops them all though. :)

The biggest gun barrel I have seen up close and personal would have to be the 155mm Howitzer. For handguns, I have actually seen one Dan Wesson 357 revolver with the very rare 15 inch barrel. In rifles, whatever barrel is on the Barret 50.

I came across an old movie recently, a commedy, and the fellow had a revolver with a barrel about 3' long !!!

In a Std wheel gun a 45/70 huge monster of a thing forget who made it... in any handgun a tc contender or encore

the absolute biggest was a 16X58 on the battleship Wisconsin when i visited it offshore in Korea. the barrel was 16 FEET and 8 inches long with a bore to crawl into. the projectile, cant call this a bullet, was near tall as self and weighed a little over a ton. that is a load of grains. in handguns, the biggest, longest i have owned and fired is my shadow grey .454 SRH with the 9 inch bbl. i have let all my friends that wanted to shoot it. because of its size, it is not unpleasant. and, SRHs are not known to be delicate little vest pocket mousers. i went into the gunstore to get a SnW 500, but, was told they had had one on order for six weeks with little hope. so, i said "hell, gimme that Ruger". after all this holiday stuff is over, i plan to get the Smith ordered. i hear they are more available now, and, maybe some of the bugs i hear about are worked out. the Ruger could have been one of those blessings in disguise. i will end up with the Smith in the end. gonna find out if all i hear about that big darlin' is true. oh, that first shot.

Largest I have shot was an old european 10guage goose gun of my buddies.

52" barrel

It was ridiculous to say the least.

"...the barrel was 16 FEET and 8 inches long..." Um, a Leopard tank's main gun is 20 feet long. The 16"/50's were a bit more than 20 meters long. Wisconsin was an Iowa class ship.(you can go pet her here. http://www.hrnm.navy.mil/wisconsin.html)
There's a slick picture of Iowa firing a broadside here. Don't know why it says 15 guns though. http://www.navweaps.com/Weapons/WNUS_16-50_mk7.htm
The biggest pistol I've ever fired was a .44 mag Desert Eagle. Gotta have hands like a monkey for those things.

The longest barreled handgun around my place is a 10 inch Ruger Super Blackhawk in .357 Maximum.

Which is a popgun compared to a 12 inch TC Encore in .30-06.

The longest barrelled handgun I ever saw? Wasn't that in 'The Spy Who Loved Me'?

I just saw a 12" Colt Buntline Special at a local sporting goods store this afternoon. They wanted $1349.00 for it, used.

Biggest gun I've seen and touched?

The Iowa, Missouri and New Jersey's 16 inchers.

Biggest guns I've fired?

M109A4 howitzer, been inside while it fired.

Pulled the lanyard on a 75mm pack howitzer and it made a rather satisfying Kaboom!.

Handheld?

.50 BMG, Barret M82 off the bench.
.458 Weatherby in a bolt gun offhand.
.416 Rigby off the bench (I regretted that one).

The biggest gun that I have ever been around would be an 8" cannon (that's bore size) at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. The biggest gun that I have ever fired is the 105 mm main gun on the M-1 Abhrams tank while I was in the army. Mind you that was the first model not the M1A1 with the 120mm smoothbore.

The biggest handheld would have to have been a Freedom Arms 454 Casull.Very impressive.

Several years ago I was able to fire a Weatherby MK V rifle in 460 Weatherby magnum. The owner was fairly well off and let me send three round downrange (those are expensive bullets). Those three rounds were enough for me. I'll stick to 12 guage and 44 magnum for my maximum amount of power.
