I've ended up selling most of handguns and find myself left with just a Keltec PF9 (for carry), a several tokerevs and hipoint 9mms. Been looking around this week and found this deals. I think I need a service type handgun. I have lots of 9mm and 40sw ammo so something in those calibers would be best.

1) Sig 2022 w/night sights + 2mags from CDNN $399
2) New Glocks $399 on LEO program (but a I have a long drive or will have to mail order them)
3) Used Glocks $330 for G22s, $350-380 from various sources for G31s, G22s, G23s, G27s most nice with night sights.
4) XDm - I should have bought one for $469 at the local show a couple months ago, but was holding out for a stainless slide version. They where higher at most recent show, I can wait it out on them though, I really like them
5) I can get anything from SOG at wholesale but noting really seemed like that great of a deal for what I want. They had Glocks in similar range as above, CZ-100s for $359 which is pretty decent I guess.

If you can buy a new Glock for $399 I'd run like a theif to that deal. That is more than $40 -less- than I can buy them for as an FFL.

I'll have to agree with the Glock LEO/MIL discount as being the best thing going. You can also get the discount by joining the Glock Shooting Sports Foundation (GSSF) for $35, meaning the new Glock costs you around $435. Still a heck of a deal.

At the monthly gun show here, one table always has new Ruger P95's for $266. I think their are better platforms, but for that price I plan on getting one.

The LEO/Military member Glock program is hard to beat.

The Glock discount it great, but if you want night sites that is more, and the $330 surplus ones with night sights already may more since. Thats why I'm not quick to jump on that. And some of the ones in $369-400 range are in such good shape and night sights already. So even if you qualify I'm not sure if its worth it.

Ruger P95, can be had for 269.99 in my neck of the woods. Thats not a looker but it's a reliable and accurate shooter. That leaves a lot of money for other things.

All great guns mentioned already...but the surprise of my extensive collection is the Stoeger Cougar. Just an unbelievable gun. The unique barrel 'twist" is the most accurate handgun I have ever shot. Hardly any recoil at all. I think it is the best deal out there right now. I have probably 1000+ rounds through mine with not a single issue. My Glocks/SIGs/XD's/Baby Eagles/S&W's/Taurus' all set in the safe...I carry the Stoeger....

Sarge - I was hoping somebody would talk about the Stoeger Cougar in this thread, I have been thinking about one for a while and may have to buy one this weekend :)

I have both a 9mm and a .40. Both are very well made and great shooters. I think they are the best under $400 HiCap Semi Auto gun out there right now.

You can't beat the GSSF deal if you like Glocks. I do, just joined up and as soon as the certificate comes I'm going to go get in on that $398.20 G17 action. Every year thereafter, I'll buy another Glock because that price is ridiculous (even counting the $35 yearly membership: the lowest price on an NIB Glock I've seen around here is $540) and they have several weapons I'd be happy to own. Heck, I might even go shoot a match or two and I even get a free hat and a copy of the catalog (the Glock Annual).

For revolvers J&G had DAO model 64's cheap. This seller of GB has model 10-10's for $180 and model 15's for $215 http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=151470483

For pistols used S&W 2nd and 3rd gen 9mm and 40's are WAY undervalued IMOO. If you cut your teeth on revolvers like I did, than the S&W sigma's for $250 are hard to beat. They don't have light triggers like glocks or SA pistols, but compared to a revolvers DA, they ain't 1/2 bad.

this depends on the area you live in i guess. after paying $35 for the GSSF coupon, and the $100 LE discount it imparts, i would only save $65.

that's certainly a good amount of money to save, but i buy my guns at a gunshop that offers 3 months free range time with purchase, but you dont get this range time with a LE Glock purchase as they only make $30 profit.

so saving the $65 wouldn't be worth it to me as i would be loosing the 3 months free range time. :)

You'd be hard pressed to beat the S&W version of the Walther P99 right now.
They are 339 with three magazines at several wholesalers.
That's night sights, 17-round mags, case.

I went ahead and ordered the Sig. Current LEO price on that model is $569 and CDNN is $399. It seemed like the best fit b/c I always feel you need night sights on a gun, and your unlikly to get them near that price in future, while Glocks will probably always be the price they are now. If I can't find an XDm soon for ~$475 I will order a glock for my backup gun.

Also:
Buds had a price drop on the S&W SW40VE and SW9VE, they are now $249 after the $50 rebate.

the SigPro 2022 is one of the well kept secrets of the Sig lineup

they are usually accurate and come out of the box with a nice DA trigger pull...to the extent that most shops don't even offer a trigger tune for the SigPro line

the only knock against the 2022 has been it's size...but at least it looks and feels sleeker than a Ruger
