Its this weekend. Ill be going. Never been to a good show before?... What to expect? What are the odds of finding good surplus ammo prices? On 7.62x25? 5.45 and x39? Also, could I find good prices on sks' or surplus tok pistols? If the prices are good, ill be very tempted to make a purchase. If not, it will be just like a really big lgs...

The 1500 is a great place to see lots of guns. I am always surprised what I don't see though. I remember one trip I did not see one single Ruger GP100. Not one single S&W Model 19. Four thousand Glocks...very few revolvers below .500 etc. Lot's and lots of ARs and accessories for same.

Very few deals on new guns. Gun shop prices with a cover charge.

But boy ok boy are there a lot of guns to see.

I started going to this show back in 1988 when I lived in Ill. It used to be a pretty good show but it has deteriorated over the years and become one of those shows where they sell more beef jerky and cheap knives from Taiwan and camouflage surplus junk than guns. The parking area is unsupervised and cars get broken into all the time and it's in a bad part of town. The prices they have on the few guns they show are ridiculous. Don't waste your time or your money.

I enjoy the show and will be going. However, the winter showsare in a much larger venue and better than the smaller summer shows.

this is the weekend of the January show. (Fri/Sat/Sun)

on Friday there were reports of people waiting over two hours in line.

some guys I know showed up when it opened, took a look at the line, and just left. They checked out some LGS' instead.
