Was in the local gun store the other day and we got to looking at a Yugo SKS with a grenade launcher attached to it. I"m sure most of us know what I'm talking about. Anyway we get to talking about how the grenade launcher aren't worth much due to the fact that the grenades are not to be found. The guy behind the counter tells me that you can get inert grades and using blanks can shoot the grenades quite some ways but less than 100 yards. Has anyone else heard this and if so where can I get the inert grenades and are they legal or are tey class 3. I know I can get the blanks no problem but would like to have some of these inert grenades if they are in fact legal

folks been making dummy grenades for years for these and the AKs, do a google search for dummy grenade + Yugo and ya'll get several pages of links..... its onea the most extensivly covered milsurp topics on the net

The Yugo SKS uses a 22mm grenade launcher, which just happens to be the exact same size as NATO launchers. You can use a practice/inert grenades for authentic looks like such as the one designed for the M1 Garand--

There are other lauchables out there that are fun as well as functional, such as a golf ball grenade launcher that is pretty cool--

I dont know if posting to another forum is agianst the rules, but here is a post worth looking at if your still interested in the grenades and how they work.

M59/66 Grenade launching system information
This post was NOT made by me, but it will help you to understand alot about it. The Yugo grenade launcher is NOT something that just so happens to be the same as the NATO Spec launcher, it was MADE TO NATO SPEC.
