I have a un known S&W that was given to me by my father in-law that was his fathers. The patent Smith & Wesson Springfield Mass. USA Patented Feb.8,08 Sept 14,09 Dec 28,14 S&W Trade Mark on the left side stamped .38 S&W Special CTG Cylender and Sereal # match 557xxx would like to know if it will shoot a .38 spl round and the model and some type of history. Thanks
