I'm going to start loading 9mm Largo. Has anyone do any work in this caliber using MBC .357 135gr RN 38 Super bullet or the .356 125gr Small ball 9mm Luger Bullet? Looking for a good "can roller". Any help with powder and charge much appreciated!

I have a Star Super B that has a long enough magazine for Largo, but the barrel came in 9x19mm.
I have converted to 9x23mm, which is nearly the same as Largo.
The Largo case is .91" long and the 9x23mm is .90" long.

You could probably start with any good 9x19mm Luger max load and it will have enough momentum in the bullet and gas to cycle your action and roll your cans.

First thing is to NOT mix up loading data for 9x23 Winchester and 9x23 Largo. They are nearly identical looking cartridges, but the pressure on the 9x23Win will blow your Largo gun to pieces. So don't interchange the load data or try to shoot factory ammo of the wrong type!!

To find which bullet is going to be best, the first thing to do is slug the bore. Best way to do this is to manually push a 38 wadcutter down the barrel. Your barrel could be anything between .354 to .357 and there's simply no other way to know.

Plenty of load data out there for the Largo. Have fun. Be safe.

I've loaded it for a while now and had good results, I had to make a set of dies out of a lee 9mm Luger carbide sizing die, and then a 38 super expander and a 38 super seating and factory crimp die. But it works just fine. I'm loading 5.0 grains of IMR-700X with a 124 grain .355 FMJ bullet. Brass you can get from midway or if you have a lot of time on your hands you can make it form 223 rounds, buying it is a much better idea. If you need any more info. just PM me.
