I just bought my second old smith,model 18-3 4 inch blue 357 mag. any history on this model and date made? thanks chris

18-3 model 357 ?
thats what i thought when i bought it . i dont have the smith in my hands right now. i told the guy at the gun shop i had never heard of a 18-3 in a s&w 357. its for sure a 4 inch s&w 357 i put it on layaway at the gun shop.my paperwork says model 18-3 357.i will go back and look at the revolver ,the true model number will be stamped on the cylinder hindge.thats why i wanted to here from you guys if there was such a thing.
