Inside of the door on your gun safe?

So the inside of the door on my gun safe is currently wasted space. currently there is an elastic cord that zig zags down the door. I tried sliding a gun behind it, but it won't hold. So what did you do to turn this into usable space?

Hello friends and neighbors // Some have factory add on pockets, the peg board sounds good, ty.

One of mine has two slots top and bottom so you can hang a support instead of drilling into the sheetrock or other backing.
In this one I have suspended a long, divided, slot, pouch for extra shotgun barrels.

Liberty Door Panel and document pockets in mine. I keep loaded mags for the Guns I would want in a hurry in the top pockets of the door panel.

I bought a pack of .99c U-hooks that is used for peg board and a $1.00 pack of velcro. I drilled 2 holes for each hook in an offset pattern, installed the hooks after taping then with electrical tape. I then took the velcro and cut 2" strips and placed the hook side across the face of the peg board hooks to hold them in place when removing the handgun (My door has a carpet type of material on it).

I have 4 handguns hanging by the trigger gaurd beneath the built in 2 tier shelf that came in the upper part of the door (It's filled with loaded mags). If it was all flat it's possible I could get another 4-6 on it. It's not pretty but it's cheap and it works great.

This is unchanged from how it shipped to me. I like the handgun pockets, eventually, when I need the room, I'll replace all the others with the same, I just don't use them for anything important.

I hung some hooks inside mine. Took the door liner off, and used some through bolts with big fender washers on the back side to make sure they couldn't pull through.

Working on some organization. Guessing I can get a few cheap Uncle Mike's holsters and Velcro. This is pretty much how it came. Plenty of pouches but lacking in holsters.

Really like the organization some of you guys have built in. Really nice work.

You should keep a loaded pistol there in case an intruder forces you to open the safe at gunpoint. There is a good chance you will be eliminated as a witness once the home invader gets what he wants. Read 'In cold blood' by Truman Capote to get an idea of who you might be dealing with.

Rembrandt, how do you hang your extra barrels like that?

Mine is just a very simple gun cabinet. I didn't trust anything to hold up a pistol on there, so I just put some 3M hooks and put all our keys to various things in there. Much better than a drawer.

Made the following mount from some 1/4" diameter steel rod, then threaded and bolted it to the door panel. Its also covered with a plastic sleeve to prevent any scratching or damage to the barrel. The top mount is a strip magnet covered with fabric to match the interior trim.
