Install of TacStar side saddle?

Anything I need to be aware of as I am considering a TacStar side saddle as a gift for a friend's Mossberg 500 pistol grip shotgun? Is it easy to install? Any mods needed for the forearm? If so, should I just get the 4 shell side saddle version to keep it easy?

It's an easy install, just swap one of the pins with the supplied screw and change the extractor screw.

The 6 shot side saddle will not work with the regular wood or synthetic forearm because the forearm partially covers the reciever when the bolt is open.
You will either have to get a short forearm (like the ones on their defensive guns) or cut off part of the existing forearm.

I used to have a 6 shot side saddle on mine with the regular forearm, but I trimmed off some of the mounting plate and cut off one of the shell holders, leaving me with a 5 shot side saddle.
that works too but it's not as pretty.

I just put one of these on my 500. very easy install, no modifications whatsoever.

Just be sure to blue Loktite the little screws that hold the shell holder to the base, they come loose!
