Kimber 84M 257 Roberts and a Leupold VX-l 1x4:

Costs about $3000 less than the Dakota and the Swarovski (which I estimate to be about $4200)

And it shoots 1.5" groups with the lowest price Hornady Factory 117 gr. ammo.

Nice looking rifle !!!!! I love my 7-08 select grade as well. This is my second Kimber rifle and both were accurate and reliable.

1.5" groups out of $1200 worth of equipment. Ouch, considering you can beat it with a Savage and a Nikon. Sure, won't be as pretty looking, but it'd be a better piece of equipment.

Nice to See Another .257 Roberts

I'll admit my .257 Bob isn't "from the same neighborhood" as that lovely Kimber (drool!), but I sure do love it for what it has done for me. Mine is a Ruger tang safety M77, with recent rework of barrel and action bedding (and a Timney trigger/safety). When I got my load adjusted and scope reset, I had 3 more rounds of my "best" reload left. So I went for a group to see what it would do. Max. spread ctr-to-ctr is 0.322". I think I'll leave it alone now...

With the lowest price factory ammo.

I would be all over the place at 4X, sounds like nice shooting and a beautiful gun. I was looking at the 84M in .308 yesterday but I couldnt take wood that nice into the woods on my budget.

That is close enough for me. My 84M in 308 is a shooter. Weighs under 6 lbs scoped. I have no problems taking it into the woods.
