Policemen, solemnly sworn...

A question to all Law Enforcement Officers, Officers of the Court, and knowledgeable Attorneys.

Do the police in Pennsylvania; municipal or State swear to uphold the U.S.Constitution, and well as the PA Constitution upon taking office?
Do law enforcement officers in other states do so?

I ask because of reading the thread on "PA residenents should read this," and other similar discussions. The PA State Police are holding the data base for pistol registration, and similar data bases, have their attorneys actively countering the public's intention to rescind these, and generally carrying out their office with disregard for the guarranteed rights of the public.
I presume similar actions by the police in other states, and perhaps more grevious than my home state.

I would also presume that their actions may be due to direct orders from their superior officers, that often display this tyranncial trait once they have begun to rise through the ranks and become part of the political system, rather than doing the usual police duties of serving and protecting.

If the ranking administrative officers are abusing their sworn Constitutional protections then why are the attorney generals of the various states not legally persuing these men to either insure that their personnel records reflect their contempt for the public's freedom, and that of the "Highest Law of the Land," so that they are relieved of their power and nullified, or even dismissed from the police force altogether for such dangerous persuits?

Recently, here in SW PA, there was a beloved state trooper murdered, and the public outpour of sympathy, support, and rage by the public for the criminal was overwhelmingly in support for all the police; state and otherwise.

How dare the State Police Administration turn right around and employ their own legal staff to oppose the vast majority of the public in these freedom issues! I wonder if tax monies are used to fund their activity?
As an example of the disdain they hold, read the thread about PA law violates the privacy act by "Gunsmith."
