Interesting article on why the pro-gun movement is winning

With N.Y. and Colorado lost, & 30 other states considering even more gun control, no ammo in sight & 20 states considering new control or taxing of ammo, I would say, NO, we R not winning yet.

I hope pro-gun is winning because the general population is smart enough to realize that the most common legislation being proposed/debated/enacted is obviously going to be ineffective and is only aimed at harming legal gun owners. Universal Background Check's; wouldn't have affected Cho, Aurora, Sandy Hook or Loughner...or for that matter, Columbine They all either passed their checks or obtained them illegally anyway. Magazine limits; just carry more magazines. AWB? Who cares what the gun looks like; anybody knows what is important is what it DOES.

The general public knows we have to address the mental health issue before we help the problem. My sainted mother has been saying it for 30 years; many of our current societal problems started when we began closing "mental institutions." down for funding reasons.

I Think what Tirod and most others have wrote in here is very true.

I'd also like to add that I think most Americans deep down understand that the problems that we have with crime in this country are a lot deeper than just guns alone.

More and more working class people every day are becoming fed up with the status quo of partisan politics. I'm seeing more urbanites than ever go against the grain of their party line and publicly state that gun laws and bans alone won't solve our crime problems.

We're winning the popular debate, which is why even in NY they had to cloak and dagger the SAFE Act legislation. Elected leaders from the anti side of the debate are willing to act in defiance of popular opinion, because they think they know best. Hopefully they get third railed in 2014 and relearn the lesson about ignoring the wishes of the voters.
