Neat idea!, Wish I had thought of it. I do few a week at work. No advertising just word of mouth.
Price goes up for junk knives.

This seems like a window for Worksharp to start a renewed marketing push on their powered abrasive belt models. It would be interesting to see how this service compares to the results a new user gets from the $50 or $70 powered Worksharp models.

There have been significant problems with Worksharp owners not reviewing the operator video and oversharpening the tips of knives. Then there's the dust on the counter. $60 to get 4 items sharpened better than new isn't much of a barrier when you only do it once a year. No, WE wouldn't, but I own a WorkSharp and stones and sticks and strops and ...

OTOH, if I had 4 knives from pawn or junk shops or even a collectable I want to use that needs some TLC I might send them in just to get them where they were easy to maintain. Hmmmm

Not for me, but I can see the appeal for some. I'll stick to my diamond Lansky, thank you very much. Scary sharp, indeed!

BTW, you can send your Kershaw / ZT back to the Mothership for a "free" sharpening...shipping on your dime. Also not for me, thank you very much. Other makers may have a similar policy.

We all love sharp knives. This is an interesting concept. There are occasions when I believe my time is worth more than money I spend on services I used to do myself. But then, I have disposable income now that I didn't have when I was younger ...

Sparky, thanks for the reminder: I've got two or three ZTs I need to send in for sharpening (no issues with the shipping cost, because they come back razor sharp).

As far as Worksharps, I've got the Ken Onion edition and it works for me for my working knives. Just don't get it out after you've had a couple or more cocktails ... (ask me how I know).

I actually sharpen things for a living. Lots of folks have seen shark tank and ask me about that group. I tell them all the same thing, you get your stuff back today or whenever you chose to pick it up and my work is guaranteed. About 60% of my business is previous customers.
