The new one is a 1.25-8x32mm. CQB at 1.25 all the way to a pretty decent view at 100 or more with 8 power:

And this one does NOT have the side focus, which is a bonus in my (KISS) book!

This one would be good for a lot of different kinds of rifles, from rimfires on up. Pretty much the perfect hunting scope for woodsy areas, espec. with the Rainguard coating. Good scope for fighting rifles, big boomers, anything but long range rifles. It also claims an eye relief of 6 inches!! Save up, kiddos. :)

Between the Elite 6500s and the incredible Nikon Omega/Slughunter scopes, we're truly living in the golden age of rifle scopes, it seems. The beginning of it anyways.

Wow that's $pendy!

I'd certainly want to read a review or two before plunking down that kind of coin.

Amend to that - hmm, good point. If this one doesn't have a heavy reticle, then they're missing the boat AFAIAC for such a low magnif scope. Have to rethink this one. Maybe they can put a different reticle in for you

To me, this signals a company that produces a premium product for a market that they don't understand very well. Every other premium scope manufacturer (certainly: Leupold, Zeiss, Swarovski, Kahles etc.) understands the need for several thicknesses and types of reticles on their premium lines of scopes. Bushnell only offers two reticles with the same stadia wire thickness in both reticles for the 6500 sope line. This indicates a company that is not customer facing, nor in touch with the diverse needs of hunters and target shooters.

Bushnell makes a good product. They need to find out what their customer needs are however, that is, outside of Japan where no one is allowed to hunt or shoot.
