Found a cut down Taurus 431 at the local Gander Mountain. Looks exactly like this http://www.jackweigand.com/taurus44.html

The price? $320 Not bad, but since it's a taurus, ported and out of state, I don't think it will be following me home.

They also had a bobbed hammer 3" ruger sp101 that looked to be in good shape for $265.

What really suprised me was a barely shot taurus 32 S&W. Nice, but 399.99 nice.

***?

None of those prices seem that good to me. I have seen better prices than those but I have also seen much worse. If you really wanted one of those, it might be worth the money but I wouldn't run out and buy one unless that was just what you wanted.

Taurus and Rugers don't go for a whole lot in the used market. Check some gun shows or auction sites and see if you can find a better deal. I have seen Ruger SP-101s go for right around $200 on Auction Arms. You have to pay shipping and FFL but you get away without paying sales tax so it might be worth it if you don't get screwed on shipping and if your FFL is not charging you excessive rates. $10-30 for FFL and the same for shipping is in the ballpark. More than that and you are getting hosed. My FFL charges $20 and I won't buy a handgun if the seller is charging more than $30.
