Anyone have thoughts about buying old police guns? I saw some M64s and M67s. Price is right--they all have some holster wear. Are there things to lookout for?
That's a great way to get a fantastiic gun at a good price check out Jim March's sticky at the top of the revolver forum

I bought my "next gun"--take a guess

1978 Ruger Security Six...came with Hogue grips (no box). $480 shipped/insured. This piece was shot, but barely--especially for its age. Very tight, very clean. I bought it off Gunsamerica through SBD Enterprises (Georgia Gun & Loan). I shot about 50 .38 special rounds and the gun didn't show any weaknesses or problems. I had a smile on my face the size of Texas on my first shot...remember my other .38 is a Colt Cobra snub (great gun, but not so fun on the range). Anyway, thanks for your input. You guys rock with your knowledge.

I have good experiences with Taurus revolvers and have no issues buying more (I own 3) if it was something that met my needs. However at the price you are paying a little more can get you a GP100 which would meet the needs you have for such a gun.

A 4" 357 is about the best all around handgun you can buy and a GP100 is my first choice.

oh well, there is still a k-frame waiting somewhere for your "the-one-after" ;)

just kidding there, the RSS is a top gun on any revolver fan's wish list, great pick
congratulations, Ma'am, enjoy !

PS
but for anyone who already owns a fine Colt and a fine Ruger... it's really only a matter of time
full size 38/357s are just too addictive, that Sig is soon going to start feeling unloved

shoot a box of 38+P thru that RSS next trip out, and be ready to giggle a lot, it's that much fun

That's a beauty. She will serve you well. I have a Ruger GP-100 3' with the half lug and love that gun. All stainless with the Letts grips.

I don't think Im ever gonna sell it :D. Your gonna love yours. Shoot some .38 and then the .357. There is a huge recoil difference. And it is fun :D

Hope you reload. ;) Congrats on such a nice piece.

YAY! Another gun purchased because of The High Road!

We really should compile the retail value of guns sold under intense peer pressure...er...because of "solid recommendations based upon centuries of collective experience with firearms".
