iosso brass cleaner

Pour some in a container and drop in some brass. Agitate it by swirling the container around while watching the brass. Remove the brass when it is as clean as you want. Note that it will have a dull frosty look when it is in there for a long time. When you are done cleaning it rinse really really well with fresh water to stop it from corroding. You can use the liquid over a bit but it will turn a bluish green over time and eventually not clean any more. I keep the used and new IOSSO seperate. I use it to remove heavy tarnish on brass before putting it into the Thumlers with SS pins with my other brass for a thorough cleaning.

Just like FROGO207 said.

If you bought the kit, stick a handful of brass in the bag that they send. Dunk it in Iosso and agitate them a little, a minute or two should be enough.

Rinse well, dry them off with a paper towel or throw them on a cookie sheet and put them in the oven on warm.

If you need them any more shiney, toss them in a tumbler for 30 min with some corn cob and a cap full of nu-finish car polish.

Some say it will ruin the brass but I used it on some really tarnished brass that would not come clean with the regular wet tumbler & ss pins.
The brass has be loaded over & over again and is still going strong.

It is a degreasing soap like Dawn and citric acid. You could probably make your own but I find it easier to just buy a gallon every couple years. I only use it as a prewash for really tarnished brass before running them through the SS pin process.

I guess I'm thinking of some different stuff. What I use is made by Iosso and you put it on your corncob/walnut hulls. Makes 'em shine like new.

I use it. It will remove the grime from the cases but will not make the cases looking like new brass. After using the losso, with cases in a net bag, I place the net bag with cases into warm water with Dawn dish detergent and slide the cases back and forth inside the new bag. Finally, rinse with clean water and set the cases out to dry.

they made it sound really good

There is not "magic" in cleaning brass.

Critic Acid (Lem Shine)
Vinegar
Phosphoric acid
Oxalic acid (Bar Keepers Friend)

Heck use a a can of soda (phosphoric acid) gets sticky though:)

Old days used to keep a can in the trunk to loosen rusted lug nuts!
