That reminds me of the MythBusters episode where they used a .22LR round as a car fuse.A discarded .22 round went off and happened to be pointed toward one of the holes in the drum.
I hate misfires. No matter how long I leave the faulty cartridge in the chamber, I always think it'll go off as soon as I cycle it out of the weapon.
I don't know if you'd call it irrational but I fear lowering the hammer over a live round on DA pistol designs that don't have a decock lever, in fact I've never tried it.
I'd like to talk for a bit about some of the irrational fears some of us shooters have about firearms.
Not irrational, I do the same. I do it because I know that the firearm was built by a human and humans are very imperfect, and that could cause a part to malfunction. The chances of that happening, pretty low. But it can. It could be a playoff gun.I can't decide if it is irrational or just good practice, but whenever I leave a loaded gun sitting on my table, I always go out of my way not to walk in front of the barrel. The logical side of me realizes that a gun will not fire on its own while sitting on a table, but I still avoid it, even though I am the only one home.
Can't bring myself to carry a Glock. For some reason I just don't feel comfortable with the trigger. Seems like its way to easy to fire. Silly, I know.

Carrying IWB --- front
thinking what happens if that round in the chamber goes off, while a quik draw and squeezing the trigger by mistake to soon!
I occasionally have a nightmare where I'm in a situation where I have to use a gun, and it fires, but has absolutely no effect.
