Is .40 S&W on the way out?

Well 10mm seems rather hard to find. I wanted to rent a 10mm hand gun for nostalgic reasons but they did not have any ammo in stock.

10mm is less common than .40

But it uses the same bullets & powders etc. and has a large cult following. I have never been unable to find 10mm, except at the range itself. Go to a Cabellas or Sportsman's Warehouse etc. In fact, I have found 10mm brass for less than the .40 brass and loaded ammo too. But the .40 is much more popular.

The .357 SIG cart caught my eye for the concept of .357 Magnum in an automatic
You could have the same thing with a 10mm, but I suppose when it comes to ammo availability .357 SIG would have the advantage. But that's just a guess on my part, because when I go into the local fun stores I am not looking for it.
As for the .40S&W...eh, make mine a 10mm. :D

I've been thinking about a 40 myself. Now that I practice more with .22, The price of a box of 40 over a 9mm isn't as much of an issue. And it does seem to be a much more powerful round, and maybe even better than the 45.
