I played with my new 22 Sparrow SS for the second time comparing different loads by alternating in the magazine of my Ruger 22/45. I shot both semi-automatic and single shot (using my thumb on the back of the bolt). Aguila SuperExtra Subsonic 40gr was the quietest of the bunch, had less recoil, and did not functiom reliably for the first few rounds in the mag.
For Remington 22subsonic 38gr (powder coated bullets), CCI MaxiMag 36gr, and CCI Subsonic 40gr there was no difference in sound at all and all functioned well
The Remington stuff smelled great. The Aquila reaked of ammonia, the CCI Subsonic had a little ammonia smell, and very slight for the CCC Maxi Mag.
