Is anyone hunting with 300 B-O subsonic this year?

Fact is, there are cartridges that do some of what the .300BO does but none that do it all. It has a lot going for it, it just requires a little more of the user than pappy's `06.

I think the problem here is that the .300 Blackout was always intended to shine as an LE/Military option in the AR platform but civilians have taken it away from the original intended use and are now trying to make it do things that were never part of the plan, particularly re the use of subsonic loads for hunting. I developed the 220gr flat based bullet that you show in post #6 when I worked for Remington. At the time Remington was selling 220gr SMKs in loaded ammunition which was a good product but expensive for plinking. Much of it went to NSWC Crane contracts but there was a push to sell a lot more to the civilian market. The plan was to offer a decent in-house 220gr bullet/load for subsonic use that would be affordable. We shot thousands of rounds from full auto 7", 9", 10", 14" and 16" barreled ARs with and without suppressors to test function of that new bullet/load. The accuracy spec had to be 3" or better at 100 yards and it was. After all that testing was complete I came to the conclusion that the .300 Blackout in a short-barreled suppressed AR machine gun is a phenomenal firearm for LE and military personnel. If I were a CLEO and wanted it a do-it-all carbine for a police department I would opt for a BO suppressed machine gun with a 10" barrel. That's what I have and it's outstanding. As for hunting, bolt action rifles and the .300 BO ... I think it's a poor combination regardless of whether it's supersonic or subsonic.
